Things to do in January Outside
Snow has fallen in the Pocono Mountains and it is time to get out and brush off those ski and snowboarding skills! If skiing and snowboarding aren’t your thing, don;t worry the Pocono Mountains has many ways to enjoy the snow and winter wilderness. If snowmobiling is something you’ve been wanting to check off your bucket list The Pocono Mountains is perfect! We suggest you check out snowmobiling at Hickory Run State Park (Approximately 15 min drive from our vacation rentals) or Promised Land State Park (Approximately 50 min drive from our vacation rentals).
Wanting something a little slower paced? Try your hand at snowshoeing! Treking through miles of snowy trails, spotting winter animals, and making new memories is what snowshoeing is all about. Naturfi offers a memorable snowshoeing experience with all day shoe rental, guided tours and more. (Approximately 25 min drive from our vacation rentals)
The Poconos offer so many great snow related activities but one that seems only made for Alaska is Dog sledding. Take a trip with Artic Paws Dog sled tours. Bundle up and hop on a sled pulled by a team of Siberian Huskies and mush your way along the snowy trails of the Poconos. Catch this amazing learning experience at Shawnee Inn and Gold Resort on Saturdays and Sunday during the winter season.
