Winter Fun in the Poconos

The Pocono Mountains offer the best Mid-Atlantic skiing! Perfect for a quick get away to the slopes for skiing, snowboarding, and tubing. There are many ski resorts within a short driving time from our rentals. Here are our recommendations.

Big boulder  (3 min drive)

When night falls on Lake Harmony, fun lights up the slopes at Big Boulder! Each night at Big Boulder from 3pm to close you can enjoy an evening experience you won't soon forget. Snow Tubing is available in Big Boulder, featuring snow tubing chutes, two tows and a conveyor carpet lift, offering memorable winter fun seven days a week.

Jack Frost (10 min drive)

Camelback (25 min drive)

Camelback Mountain Facts:

ATV Rentals

Ready for a fast paced and heart pounding way to see the Pocono Mountains? ATV riding is calling your name. Here are our favorite places to enjoy ATV riding in the Pocono Mountains.

Alvin’s Offroad Playground (15 min drive) 

Located in Long Pond, Pennsylvania, nestled among the beautiful Pocono Mountains, Alvin’s Offroad Playground is a fun ATV park with off-road trails for riders of all skill levels. Find out what a true off-road experience is all about by conquering every trail with your recreation vehicle or rent one of ours for a 1 hour ATV Tour. The property is truly a rider’s paradise.

1 hr ATV tour is offered multiple times a day (Check website for times). They allow drivers ages 14 and up, as long as the guide deems they can handle the machine, ages 5-13 must be a passenger. You will get dirty! Long pants and sturdy close toed shoes are required. All riders must wear a helmet and sign a waiver.

Paintball

Time to show off your tactical skills and play around of paintball. The Pocono Mountains have some of the best paintball experiences in the Mid-Atlantic. So gear up and get ready for an adventure like no other.

 Skirmish/Paintball Albrightsville (10 min drive)

Skirmish Paintball is a capture-the-flag team sport played on a heavily wooded site with trout streams, waterfalls, natural and man made obstacles. Skirmish has open fields, dense woods, creeks, bridges, swamps, rhododendron trees, forts, villages, two castles, cargo containers, tanks, airplanes, speedball arenas, as well as inflatable bunkers. You name it – Skirmish has it! There is no experience necessary to play, but must be 10 years of age or older. They provide your paintball equipment.

Biking

Ready to push your limits and enjoy the beauty of the Pocono Mountains? There is no better way to get in touch with nature while getting an endorphin buzz than biking. Here are our favorite bike trails.

D and L Trail Black Diamond Trailhead (27 min drive)

A 10.3-mile point-to-point trail near Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Generally considered an easy route.The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. Dogs are welcome and may be off-leash in some areas.


Bike Rental

Need a bike? No worried, Peterson’s Ski and Cycle offers mountain and hybrid bike rentals by day or by week. They even offer a delivery service if you don’t have a car that is big enough to haul a bike around!

White Water Rafting

It's not always about what you see, but what you feel that makes this adventure memorable. Ready to feel your adrenaline pumping through your veins as you crash through the rapids? The spray of the river getting in your face? The sudden feeling you get when your stomach drops as you go over a waterfall? Then this adventure is for you.

Adventure Rafting (25 min drive)

Offering 3 types of rafting, there is something for every experience level. Whitewater rafts boast class 2 & class 3 and are perfect for ages 8 and up. EZ whitewater has class 1 & class 2 rapids and for ages 6 and up. Summer rafting is perfect for anyone wanting to enjoy a day on the water and even stop to swim (ages 4 and up). All equipment is provided. Dam releases vary each month and year so be sure to check the website for release dates for the ultimate adrenaline rush!

Skydiving

Endorphins, adrenaline and serotonin are known as the feel good chemicals produced by the brain and nothing gets them pumping harder than skydiving! Skydiving in the Pocono Mountain is truly a breathtaking experience.

Pocono Mountain ZipLine at WRA  (25 min drive) 

Ready to feel like Tarzan, zipping through the trees? This park has you reaching up to 900 feet high and speeds up to 35 mph. All equipment is provided. Check their website for appropriate clothing.
