Things to do in June in Lake Harmony

Summer is finally here! School is out and it’s time for a much-needed summer vacation. Looking for the perfect place to relax and unwind after a full year of hard work and hectic activities?  Look no further than the Pocono Mountains, all they have to offer and stay at one of our fabulous vacation rentals.

June is a great month to visit the Pocono Mountains. The Poconos have been called the “Water Wonderland.” People travel from all over to enjoy the rivers to go whitewater rafting, go fishing at the local streams, hike and spend time admiring waterfalls , or spending the day on the lake or at the beach. 

June is an excellent month to visit the Pocono Mountains. Here is what we are looking forward to the most:

Dinner and a Train Ride: Join the Stourbridge line for a scenic trip along the Lackawaxen River.  There are two opportunities to enjoy this unique event. The dinner train leaves the station on June 4th and June 25th.  The catered three course dinner is provided by Sidel’s Restaurant. There are tables for parties of two or four and a party less than four, so be sure to bring your bestie. This is a BYOB event, please let them know in advance if you’re bringing your own beer or wine. You can view menu choices on the above webpage. (Approximately 1 hour and 10 min drive from our vacation rentals)

Chalk Festival: Looking for a family friendly event to get your creative juices flowing? Head the Chalk Festival June 11th at Camelback Resort where you can join artist Natalie Flor Negron and other artists for a creatively fun filled day. There will be a lot of kid activities, Crayola will also be onsite for fun and games as well as the bookmobile from Monroe County Library.  (Approximately 30 min drive from our vacation rentals)

Wine and Food Festival: Head to Split Rock Resort for the 32nd Annual Great Tastes of Pennsylvania Wine and Food Festival on June 17th and 18th.  Tickets can be purchased on the link above. Children 0-14 get in free. Have a great time while you enjoy wine tastings from a lineup of Pennsylvania’s finest wineries. There will also be food and craft vendors, live entertainment as well as giveaways and much more! (Approximately 10 min drive from our vacation rentals)

Father’s Day: Celebrate Dad on Father’s Day June 18th with brunch at the “Settlers Inn” where you can enjoy live entertainment and a farm to table prix fixe menu or at “The Dock” that will feature a special Father’s Day menu. (Approximately 1 hour drive from our vacation rentals)

Ice Cream and Train Rides: Who doesn’t love Ice Cream! Join the Stourbridge line for a 2.5 hour round trip adventure to White Mills. Step off the train where you will enjoy an ice cream sundae made with local ice cream, family games and several photo opportunities for the whole family. Climb back aboard the train to catch a beautiful sunset on the Lackawaxen River Valley. Advance ticket purchase is recommended. Train departs June 23rd and the 30th.  (Approximately 1 hour and 10 min drive from our vacation rentals)

Checkout “The Peach Music Festival” June 29th- July 2nd  The Peach Musical Festival has become one of the most popular summer music festivals in the North, created by the Allman Brothers Band in 2012. Music choices feature some of the best musicians in alternative rock, folk, blues, country and more. There is something for everyone no matter what type of music you enjoy. The festival is held outside, with a beautiful mountain backdrop. There are two different stages: the Peach Stage and the Mushroom Stage. Both are found inside the waterpark where you can enjoy the music while floating down the lazy river or head to the larger peach stage where you can dance the weekend away. (Approximately 50 min drive from our vacation rentals)

As always there’s always something for everyone in the beautiful Pocono Mountains, our vacation rentals are no different. So relax, unwind and get ready to enjoy your peaceful getaway to Pennsylvania.
